Interactive 3D Material Configurator
This anatomical brain is a live demo of the 3D Product Customizer & Configurator for WooCommerce, used here as a pure 3D material configurator. A single 3D mesh is paired with one customization step offering a full range of finishes — drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, and switch materials to see how one model can present completely different surfaces in real time.
One model, every material type
The finishes on this demo span every material class the plugin supports from a single option: a free-form color picker, solid presets like Black, Blue, Purple, and White, realistic leathers in black and brown, metals including Brushed Metal and Metal 2, and natural Dark Wood and Light Wood grains. Each is rendered with physically based rendering, so metalness, roughness, and reflection respond to light the way the real material would — no design software, no code.
How the materials are built
Every finish here was defined through the plugin’s visual admin. Solid colors use the color picker; the metals, leathers, and woods use uploaded base color, normal, AO, metalness, and displacement maps for photorealistic detail. Once saved, the materials appear as a visual gallery inside the step — selecting which ones to offer is as simple as checking boxes, and the frontend options generate themselves.
Built for any product, including education and visualization
Because the plugin loads any .glb model, the same material engine that restyles furniture or footwear works equally for anatomical, scientific, and educational models. An interactive 3D brain is a natural fit for medical training sites, classroom resources, and museum or exhibit pages — let visitors rotate the model, inspect it from any angle, and view it in their own space.
See it in your room with AR
On a compatible phone, the View in AR button places the model in your space at true scale — Quick Look on iOS, WebXR on Android. For educational and medical use, AR turns a static figure into something a learner can walk around and examine.
How this demo was made
A single .glb model was uploaded straight through the WooCommerce product editor. The plugin detected the mesh automatically, every material was assigned with checkboxes in the visual admin, and the configurator generated itself. When a selection is added to the cart, the chosen finish is saved to the order as line-item meta.
